- Why or why not? Many barriers may exist for us to submit to God’s will. There is potential for God to lead us into immense suffering, death, embarrassment, rejection from others, loss of security, the removal of sins we enjoy, and much more.
- Are there any barriers to praying honestly, “God, your will be done?
- If the disciples do not pray, they will not stand a chance when Jesus is included among the criminals who deserve to be executed.” That’s because prayer creates a dependent spirit that communes with God.
- How does dependence and communion with God ready us for challenges?
- God the Father hears Jesus’ prayer and responds 2 Chronicles 16:9a says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.”
- Can you trust God that he wants to strengthen you?
- Have you experienced God strengthening you?

- We should make a regular practice of praying for others.

- Jesus yielded his life to the Father’s will. Does submitting your will to the Father’s will come easily or do you struggle to trust God’s will for your life?
- The Father responded to Jesus’ prayer in the Garden by sending an angel to strengthen him. In your moments of crisis, how have you seen God answer your prayers?
