- The Problem—Should Christians continue in sin? (vv. 1-2)
- Remember that as a Christian you have been changed (vv. 3-10)
- Christians have been baptized into the death of Christ
- Christians have been buried with Christ through baptism into death
- Christians have been raised with Christ to walk in new life
- Christians have been united with Christ in his death and resurrection
- The Christians old man was crucified with Christ so that it may no longer dominate us
- How to live when you are dead (vv. 11-14)
- Know that you have been changed. You are no longer under sin’s control. You are a new creation through Jesus
- Consider what you know to be true about what Jesus has done for you and continually believe it
- Choose to make choices that are in line with your new identity. Instead of offering your body to sin, offer your body to God
