The Reason for Prayer
1. There was persecution
2. There was an adversary
The Example of Prayer
1. It was a passionate prayer.
  - Prayers was made without ceasing-the idea of going beyond the boundaries.
  - Prayer that is not casual, sluggish, apathetic prayer, it is a prayer that pours from a burdened
2. It was a faithful prayer
  - Prayer that is made “to God”
  - Faith is the essential ingredient that marks the difference between answered and unanswered prayer.
3. It was a specific prayer
  - “made…unto God for him.”
  - If we do not pray specific prayers, how will we ever know when God answers?
4. It was a united prayer.
  - The church gathered together to pray.
  - Their prayers had power because they were united in their walk with God

1. Powerful Deliverance
2. Powerful Surprises
  - Warren Weirsbe said, “God could get Peter out of prison, but Peter couldn’t get himself into a prayer meeting.”
3. Powerful Sovereignty of God
  - God is sovereign over the opposition
  - God is sovereign over the mission
