Life in the Spirit

ROMANS 8

  1. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ (vs. 1)
    • This declaration of no condemnation applies to both your past and future sins
    • There is nothing about me that can be revealed that Jesus has not seen and that his blood has not already covered
  2. There is no condemnation because the law of the Spirit has set us free (vv. 2-4)
    • If you are forgiven, you will be changed
    • When Jesus forgives your sins, your rise up and walk spiritually
    • If you get up tomorrow, will your life be different because the Spirit is inside you
  3. Are you walking in the flesh or the Spirit? (vv. 5-8)
    • We walk in the Spirit by setting our minds on the things of the Spirit
    • Set your mind on the things of the Spirit means thinking about the things he thinks, loving what he loves and seeking what he seeks
    • Mindset of the flesh:
      • Self-Will
      • Self-Glory
      • Self-Righteousness
      • Self-Sufficiency
  4. Remember that you are in the Spirit (vv. 9-11)
    • The Christian life is fellowship with God
    • Coming to Christ is a surrender to God
    • There is hope even when I feel dead
